The Text (30 gaps)

The ship 1️⃣ ___ anchor at dawn, its sails swelling with the first gust of ocean wind. Samuel Briggs, a young sailor from New England, 2️⃣ ___ aboard with a mixture of dread and eagerness. The captain had warned them that the voyage would 3️⃣ ___ its toll, yet none had been willing to 4️⃣ ___ aside the promise of fortune in distant ports.

He knew that the sea could 2️⃣9️⃣ ___ back everything it gave, and that one day it might still 3️⃣0️⃣ ___ his life. But for now, he felt only gratitude that he had stood his ground and earned his place among sailors.   ★
